Role Overview
Adalat AI is hiring Legal Data Experts with sound legal knowledge, and a strong desire to work at the dynamic interface of technology and law.
We are looking for law students and early career professionals, individuals who are meticulous, curious, and genuinely excited about contributing meaningfully towards the development of tools that create real impact. In this role, you'll work closely with our ML and Data teams to build and evaluate the legal training data that powers Adalat AI's products.
Position Details
Part-time, contract-based, remote with flexible working hours.
Expected workload: 10-20 hours/week, depending on your availability, followed by call with the team as may be required.
Compensation: INR 450-600 per hour, based on task type and performance.
Hiring Process
Intro call (~20 min) to discuss the role, expectations, and fit.
Paid trial week - about 10-15 hours of real work with the team, compensated at INR 250 / hour.
Key Responsibilities
Work with our data team to design context-specifc real world test queries, evaluate model-generated responses and provide gold-standard responses.
Help improve the contextual awareness and accuracy of our language models for legal and public interest use cases.

Qualifications
Obtained or pursuing an LL.B. from a Bar Council of India-recognised institution (required).
Familiarity with the Indian court hierarchy: District Courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
Strong attention to detail and ability to read large volumes of dense legal text accurately.
Comfortable working independently in a remote, async environment.
Prior experience in litigation is a strong plus.
