Role Overview
We’re looking for a Legal Associate who is passionate about building cutting-edge AI products for justice systems. In this role, you’ll work across legal, policy, and product domains – collaborating with engineers, designers, and court stakeholders to translate legal pain points into product insights and solutions.
This role is designed for someone early in their career (1 to 3 years of experience) with a knack for understanding tech products, a grounding in legal compliance within evolving regulatory frameworks, and a genuine interest in collaborating with both lawyers and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Technology Development
Identify pain points in judicial workflows and translate them into clear, actionable product insights.
Collaborate with judges, court staff, and lawyers to gather feedback, co-design solutions, and iterate on features.
Work with our design and engineering teams to turn judicial feedback into meaningful product improvements.
Ensure all solutions align with legal and regulatory frameworks while meeting real user needs.
Legal Strategy & Compliance
Assist with compliance across domains, including data protection, corporate governance, and labour & employment laws.
Ensure adherence to government and court-specific policies and MOUs, and help create internal frameworks for ongoing compliance.
Research and analyze emerging areas of law and policy, especially data privacy and AI governance.
Qualifications
LLB required; LLM preferred (specialization in technology law or corporate governance is a plus).
1 to 3 years of legal experience in litigation, a law firm, or as in-house counsel.
Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge legal and technical domains.
Familiarity with AI, technology, or digital transformation in legal systems is a strong plus.
Demonstrated curiosity and self-learning ability to adapt to new systems and workflows quickly.
