Adalat AI is building an end-to-end justice tech stack that automates manual and clerical pain points in courtrooms, giving judges back time to focus on what matters most: decision-making and delivering justice. Our solutions - from AI-powered transcription in Indian languages to case-flow management and document navigation - are now deployed across 9 states, covering nearly 20% of India’s judiciary. Backed by leading technology companies and funders, and incubated at MIT and Oxford, Adalat AI is working to eliminate judicial delays and expand access to timely justice. Founded by a team with backgrounds in law, technology, and economics from Harvard, Oxford, MIT, and IIIT Hyderabad, we are scaling rapidly across India and the Global South.

Role Overview

Adalat AI is entering a phase of rapid scale — across states, institutions, and geographies. To support that growth, we’re looking for a Fundraising Manager who can help build and strengthen our fundraising and partnership efforts across foundations, philanthropies, institutional donors, CSR partners, and global grant-making organisations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and execution. You’ll identify and research aligned funding opportunities, help shape compelling narratives around our work, support grant writing and reporting, and build long-term relationships with mission-aligned partners.

We’re looking for someone who understands the nonprofit and impact ecosystem, is highly organised, communicates clearly, and is excited about working closely with the fundraising team on high-leverage fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Research & Strategic Partnerships

Identify and map potential donors, foundations, philanthropic institutions, CSR partners, and grant-making organisations aligned with Adalat AI’s mission
Research funding priorities, thematic focus areas, geography, and partnership criteria to assess alignment
Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of prospective funders across India and international markets
Track trends within the philanthropy, AI-for-good, justice-tech, governance, and public-interest ecosystems
Identify strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities aligned with Adalat AI’s long-term goals

Outreach, Donor Engagement & Relationship Management

Support outreach efforts to prospective donors and institutional partners
Help maintain relationships with existing funders through regular communication, updates, and engagement
Coordinate meetings, follow-ups, and partnership conversations with funders and ecosystem stakeholders
Support donor field visits, institutional visits, and related coordination activities
Assist with donor engagement activities, partnership events, presentations, and relationship-building efforts
Maintain a structured CRM/database of contacts, opportunities, deadlines, and partnership status
Support stewardship efforts to strengthen long-term donor relationships and engagement

Grant Writing & Reporting

Support the drafting and submission of grant applications, proposals, concept notes, and partnership decks
Work closely with internal teams to gather data, impact metrics, programmatic updates, and case studies
Coordinate grant reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of narrative and financial reports
Help develop clear, compelling storytelling around Adalat AI’s impact, growth, and long-term vision
Support the development of donor-facing collateral, presentations, and fundraising materials

Fundraising Operations

Track fundraising opportunities, application timelines, and reporting requirements
Monitor relevant grant platforms, donor networks, newsletters, and funding databases
Support the creation of internal fundraising systems, trackers, and knowledge repositories
Assist the Fundraising Lead in preparing for donor meetings, presentations, and strategic fundraising discussions
Support day-to-day fundraising operations and other partnership-related activities as needed
Help ensure fundraising documentation, donor records, and reporting systems remain organised and up to date

Lead and support successful grant applications, donor reporting, and fundraising narratives that translate Adalat AI’s courtroom-scale impact into compelling, fundable stories.
Strengthen long-term donor and ecosystem relationships by driving consistent engagement, strategic partnerships, stakeholder coordination, and high-trust communication across the fundraising lifecycle.
Create scalable fundraising systems — including CRM workflows, opportunity trackers, reporting processes, and partnership operations — that enable Adalat AI to support rapid organisational growth with a lean team.
