Analytics Associate
Remote
Adalat AI is building an end-to-end justice tech stack that automates manual and clerical pain points in courtrooms, giving judges back time to focus on what matters most: decision-making and delivering justice. Our solutions - from AI-powered transcription in Indian languages to case-flow management and document navigation - are now deployed across 9 states, covering nearly 20% of India’s judiciary. Backed by leading technology companies and funders, and incubated at MIT and Oxford, Adalat AI is working to eliminate judicial delays and expand access to timely justice. Founded by a team with backgrounds in law, technology, and economics from Harvard, Oxford, MIT, and IIIT Hyderabad, we are scaling rapidly across India and the Global South.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an Analytics Associate who is sharp, curious, and comfortable using AI tools as a daily superpower. You don’t need to be a data engineer — you need to be someone who can look at messy information, ask the right questions, and use every tool available (especially AI) to turn it into something clear, accurate, and useful.
You’ll work directly within the founder’s office, owning the data layer behind our storytelling and strategy. That means pulling numbers from our platform, cleaning and sense-checking them, building simple dashboards, and packaging insights for stakeholders who include senior judges, institutional funders, and government officials.
This is an AI-first role. We expect you to use tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants as your primary workflow — for data cleaning, analysis, writing queries, generating visualisations, and automating repetitive reporting tasks. The ability to prompt well, validate AI outputs, and iterate quickly matters more to us than knowing any specific programming language.
If you’re someone who’s naturally analytical, picks up tools fast, and gets excited about using AI to punch above your weight — this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
DATA OPERATIONS & INTEGRITY
Pull, clean, and structure data from internal product logs and external court system metrics — using AI tools to accelerate the process
Maintain data integrity by catching anomalies, missing fields, and inconsistencies in real-world datasets
Document your workflows so that processes are transparent and repeatable
INSIGHTS & REPORTING
Build and maintain dashboards using Mixpanel to track KPIs across states and judicial tiers
Create clear charts and visualisations that make complex judicial trends understandable for non-technical audiences
Use AI tools to run exploratory analysis, spot patterns, and generate first drafts of data narratives
Translate platform metrics into insights and recommendations that inform product and strategy decisions
STAKEHOLDER & TEAM SUPPORT
Provide specific data points for newsletters, regional activity reports, grant applications, and the annual impact report
Prepare data-heavy sections for stakeholder presentations and pitch decks
Support the founder’s office with ad-hoc analysis for high-stakes meetings with government officials and institutional partners
Qualifications
0–2 years of experience in analytics, research, operations, or a generalist role with an analytical bent (experience in SaaS, GovTech, or mission-driven organisations is a plus)
Degree in any discipline — we care more about how you think than what you studied
Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning)
Active, daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) for work — not just experimentation
Experience with or willingness to learn Mixpanel or Google Analytics
Comfort with numbers, charts, and turning messy data into structured outputs
Strong enthusiasm for legal-tech and public service impact
What You Will Achieve in a Year
Own the reporting infrastructure that powers Adalat AI’s stakeholder communication and strategic decisions
Produce quarterly data-driven reports that become the go-to reference for internal reviews and external meetings
Build an AI-augmented analytics workflow that lets you operate at a level well beyond your years of experience
Move from executing detailed briefs to independently identifying insights and shaping how the company tells its data story
Benefits and Perks
WFH with flexible work hours.
Unlimited PTO.
Contacts within the Harvard / MIT/ Oxford ecosystem.
Autonomy and Ownership
Smart, Humble and Friendly peers
Generous vacation
